After waiting seven years, Sydney played host to the 27th Olympics Games
from September 15 to October 1. To prepare CityRail passengers for the impending
event a special timetable was organised and started two days prior to the
Games starting. The changes were far reaching across their entire network,
with most diesel railcar services only operating from outer suburban termini,
intercity routes cut back, set sizes reduced, and a thirty minute suburban
service for most of the day to Gosford! The Games may now have gone, but their
audio history has been captured to remind us of those mad 17 days.
